Seven Performances

1. To enhance the four abilities of fire services personnel; firefighting ability, search & rescue ability, administrative ability and organizational ability
2. To maintain and upkeep the appliances and equipment of firefighting and search & rescue in the state of readiness
3. To conduct the public fire safety awareness activities effectively
4. To organize and train Auxiliary Fire Brigade and Reserved Fire Brigade members
5. To do continuous research and train the fire services personnel in order to be proficient in the modernized techniques of administrative, firefighting and rescue to keep abreast with the international community
6. To make the state owned and private departments, organizations and enterprises follow the fire safety advices utilizing authorities empowered by fire force law
7. To upgrade the capabilities of the Myanmar fire services personnel providing trainings in order to be the strong reserved force of the State.

Conducting the Trainings with Foreign Instructors

3. With the negotiation of His Excellency U Aung Kyi, Union Minister for Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief & Resettlement and Ambassador of Singapore, two International Urban Search and Rescue Training Courses: the first training course with the 95 cadet officers from 5th to 16th of December 2011 and the second with 100 fire officers of states and regions from 5th to 16th of January 2012, were conducted with the assistance of Singapore Civil Defence Force in Central Fire Services Training School (PyinOoLwin). Also with the assistance of France Embassy of Singapore, the first Firefighting and Rescue Techniques Training Course was conducted with 25 trainees in Myanmar Fire Force (HQ)from 5th to 9th of October 2015. In 2016, the training course on Firefighting, Search & Rescue and Maintenance of Fire Trucks &Equipment was conducted with 60 trainees in Myanmar Fire Force (HQ) from 8th to 19th of February. Also the second training course on Firefighting and Rescue Techniques was conducted with 25 trainees in Myanmar Fire Force (HQ) from 17th to 21stof October 2016. The training course on Fire Truck Maintenance was successfully conducted with 102 trainees in Myanmar Fire Force (HQ) from 28th to 29thof November 2016. And the ex-trainees are utilizing their knowledge and skills acquired from the trainings in the life-saving activities, in line with the noble objectives of the department.

Fire Safety Manager Training Course

4. Fire Services Research and Fire Safety Education Center was established on Pyay Road, Myaynigone, San Chaung Township, Yangon and Fire Safety Manager Training Course is being conducted with the aim of sharing the knowledge on fire safety, natural disaster, search & rescue to the public, the companies, the departments, the organizations and the security managers from factories, workshops and warehouses.

Formation of Search and Rescue Teams

5. In order to conduct the natural disaster prevention and to perform the quick response in case of natural disasters, a search & rescue platoon comprising of 35 members in each township: totaling 333 platoons, a search & rescue company comprising of 116 members in each state or region: totaling 17 companies are organized. In addition, 3 search & rescue companies in Naypyitaw, Yangon and Mandalay comprising of 116 fire services personnel in each company are also organized. The search & rescue equipment are collected and distributed in regions.

Command and Control Center

6. To perform the firefighting and search & rescue activities in Yangon Region effectively, Command and Control Center was set up in Myanmar Fire Force (HQ) in 2011-2012 fiscal year and started running on 5th of May 2012.
The four systems: Vehicle Tracking System, Fire Services Operating Management System, e-Watching Tower System and IP Camera System are utilizing at the Command and Control Center.
