The Establishment of the Myanmar Police Force
1. The Myanmar Police Force headed by Chief of Police of the Myanmar Police Force holding the rank is under the control of the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Chief of Police takes control the whole police force in Myanmar. The present organization of Myanmar Police Force is composed as follows-
- Headquarters.
- Security Police Command Division
- Border Guard Police Division.
- Special Department.
- State and Division Police
- Training Centres.
The Headquarters
2. The Headquarters is headed by the Chief of Police who commands and controls the whole Myanmar Police Force with the assistance of Deputy Chief of Police, Chief of Police General Staff, Police Adjutant General, Police Quarter Master General, Head of Division against Transnational Crime and Head of Police Training Division holding the rank of Police Brigadier Generals who take responsible for the Chief of Police.
Security Police Command Division
3. There are four Security Police Command Divisions supervised by the Headquarters directly. These divisions are located in Yangon Region, Mandalay Region, and Rakhine State and under the close supervision of respective Police Brigadier General.
Border Guard Police Division
4. No.1 Border Guard Police Division was founded in 10 March 2014 and commanded by a Police Brigadier General.
The Special Departments
5. There are fourteen special departments headed by their respective commanders holding the ranks of Police Brigadier Generals and Police Colonels respectively in Myanmar Police Force. They are :

State and Region Police Forces
6. There are totally 15 state and regional police forces including Pyitaungsu Region Napyitaw Police Force under the control of State and Regional Police Commanders holding the ranks of Police Brigadier Generals and Police Colonels. Their responsible areas are based on respective civil administration departments.
Training Centers
7. (a) Police Officer Training School: A police Brigadier General supervises it and it nurtures police cadets to be police second lieutenants.
(b) Police Officer's Tactical Institute: Refresher Courses are given to police officers for their capacity building and it is supervised by a police colonel.
(c) Police Non-Commission Officer Training School: To raise capacity of police non-commission officer, it gives refresher courses to them under the control of a police colonel.
(d) No. 1,2,3 and 4 Police Basic Training School; These schools give basic police tatics to new police constable and supervised by Police Colonels. These schools give specific training to new police constables. No.1 Police Basic Training School also takes responsibility for Giving basic training to new police woman constables.

Security
- Myanmar Police Force is doing according to the instruction given by Ministry of Home Affairs and Headquarter of Myanmar Police Force, regarding with security matters, Head of the State those who attend the State Ceremonies, Forums, Meetings, ASEAN Summits, SEA Games, Tours of the Heads of the Foreign Countries and Foreign Governmental Ministers and Buddhist Religious Ceremonies. We have been serving those duty, cooperating with other counterpart organizations.
Policies of The Myanmar Police Force
1. International Cooperation in fighting against Terrorism Including IS။
Myanmar enacted Counter-Terrorism Law on 4th July, 2014 and is actively cooperation with regional and international organizations in the following process,
(a) Share and exchange information related to terrorism.
(b) Denied any terrorist groups and individual terrorist for utilizing Myanmar’s terrorist for hostile act against any other state.
(c) Mutual assistance and cooperation in preventing terrorist activities, supporting terrorism, providing opportunity to terrorism, planning terrorist acts and financing terrorism in accordance with international conventions and local laws.
(d) Preventing activities of terrorists and terrorist organizations by effective measures at the border areas.
(e) Promoting regional forum, providing capacity building training and technical cooperation to fight against terrorist activities and financing terrorism.
(f) Promoting public awareness to gain society’s participate and cooperation in combating terrorism and its financial issues.
(g) Promoting transnational cooperation and collaboration.
(h) Research and capacity building for more effective result in combating terrorism and financing terrorism.
2. In Myanmar, we already had the Central Committee for Counter-terrorism and we have established the Counter-Terrorism Department under Special Branch, Ministry of Home Affairs that aims to co-operate the efforts to Counter-Terrorism measures of ASEAN and International Countries. Nowadays, Terrorism attack happens not only in the countries that have lack of technology but also in the countries that have advanced technology. That’s why, cooperation among the countries is more important to combat Terrorism.
3. Combating Terrorism requires an international cooperative effort. Without it, terrorist safe heavens will continue exist and their operation will continue to have further reaching and increasingly damaging consequences worldwide. Because of that, we are here with the same intention to fight against terrorism and I heartily thank and honor the participants.
Myanmar Efforts in Combating Human Trafficking
4. Myanmar has been implementing following two strategies, three tactics and five components in order to combat trafficking in persons;
(a) Two Strategies
(1) To prevent suppress trafficking in persons as a national duty since human trafficking damages the pride and reputation of Myanmar nationality that should be valued and safeguarded by all Myanmar people.
(2) In preventing and suppressing trafficking in persons, particular attention should be paid to women, children and youth.
(b) Three Tactics
(1) To implement Prevention, Prosecution, Protection and Rehabilitation measures effectively.
(2) To cooperate and strengthen activities among the relevant government departments, organizations, international and local non-governmental organizations, and the private sector.
(3) To strengthen cooperation with regional and international agencies in combating transnational human trafficking.

(1) To Designate narcotic drugs elimination as a national duty and comprehensive implementation.

(c) The three methods are
(1) To uplift and change the morale and perception of drug users and poppy growers.
(2) To secure smooth and easy transportation and and communication between the nationals residing in highland areas and thouse in mainland.
