15 innocent local people were dead and seven people including three monks were injured due to a reckless firing of improvised mortars by so-called PDF terrorists towards Ngwetwin Village of Ayarataw Township, Sagaing Region on the morning of 5 July.
The incident occurred on 5 July at about 04:00 AM, so-called PDF terrorists attacked with improvised mortars towards Ngwetwin Village of Ayarataw Township. The attack originated from southeast of the Village. During the attack, 15 innocent local people, who were working and living honestly in the Village, were dead from bomb shrapnel as well as three monks and four innocent civilians were also injured. Security personnel were delivering all the injured individuals to a military hospital in Monywa Town for medical treatment, it is reported.
Security personnel are investigating the incident to take punitive action against terrorists who brutally and evilly attacked with improvised mortars towards a Village where innocent civilians residing, working and living honestly, as soonest in accordance with the law and to maintain stability and peace in the region, it is reported.
