With the intent to cause injuries to both peaceable civilians and administrative authorities who are striving to restore the rule of law, extremist terrorists provide financial assistance and instigate destructive activities, such as detonating explosive devices and remote blasting, against public roads, railways, government offices and houses.
Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, around 11:30 AM on 20 June 2024, security personnel received a report of an explosion that occurred near Pay Kone (South) Village in Kambalu Township, Sagaing Region. When security personnel promptly arrived at the scene for further investigation, they discovered that U Phoe Chan (75 years old) a resident of the village, had accidentally stepped on an explosive device planted by a so-called PDF terrorist group while herding cows on a farm located one mile northeast of the village. The explosive device detonated, causing shrapnel injuries to U Phoe Chan and he was then transported to Kambalu District Public Hospital for medical treatment, it is reported.
Similarly, around 12:10 PM, security personnel received a report that a woman with shrapnel injuries had arrived at the Lashio District Public Hospital in Lashio Township, Northern Shan State. When security personnel promptly arrived at the Hospital for further investigation, they discovered that around 11:30 AM, on the same day, Daw Nan Htu (47 years old) a resident of Kon Kyine Village in Lashio Township, had accidentally stepped on an explosive device planted by a terrorist group while cutting firewood near a upland field approximately two furlongs east of the village. The explosive device detonate, causing Daw Nan Htu to sustain shrapnel injuries, it is reported.
It has been reported that the security personnel are taking measures to identify the culprits of the acts of terrorism from the above-mentioned incidents to take effective action in accordance with the law.
