A child died and an innocent civilian was injured when the roof of a house was damaged by an attack with improvised mortars, recklessly fired by so-called PDF terrorist group towards a ward

In States and Regions, insurgent groups supporting terrorism and so-called PDF terrorist groups have been carrying out terrorist acts against non-military targets. These acts include detonating public roads and bridges, dropping bombs, firing heavy arms, using improvised mortars, and setting fire to residential houses in areas where innocent civilians reside, such as wards and villages.
Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on February 4 at 7:25 PM, a so-called PDF terrorist group (the exact number is under investigation) recklessly fired improvised mortars toward No. (3) Ward of Wetlet Township, Sagaing Region. One of the mortar shells exploded on the house of U Myint Oo (46 years old), located near a bus terminal within the Ward. As a result, two galvanized roofs of the house were damaged, and U Myint Oo’s wife, Ma Wah Wah (44 years old), and their son, Mg Pyay Hein Htet (five years old), sustained injuries from improvised mortar shell shrapnel. Unfortunately, Mg Pyay Hein Htet succumbed to his injuries while being transported to Wetlet Township Public Hospital for medical treatment, it is reported.
Security personnel are conducting an investigation into the incidents involving the improvised mortars attack on the ward, which resulted in the earlier mentioned. The aim of this investigation is to take punitive action against the terrorists involved. This action is in accordance with the law and is geared towards upholding stability and peace in the region, it is reported.
