In States and Regions, insurgent groups supporting terrorism and so-called PDF terrorists have been carrying out terrorist acts against non-military targets. These acts include detonating public roads and bridges, dropping bombs, firing heavy arms, using improvised mortars and setting fire to residential houses in areas where innocent civilians reside, such as wards and villages.
Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 3 December at 04:10 PM, a report stated that a child with bomb shrapnel injuries had arrived at Mandalay Public Hospital. Security personnel promptly arrived at the hospital and conducted an inspection. During the inspection, it was found that Mg Wai Yan Moe (11 years old), who lives in No. (2) Zaykone Ward of Htigyaing Town, Sagaing Region, sustained an injury from bomb shrapnel to his right thigh. The incident was verified that, Mg Wai Yan Moe had sought refuge in Kyaukzaydi monastery located in No. (2) Zaykone Ward due to KIA armed insurgents and so-called PDF terrorists attacking to Htigyaing Town. While seeking refuge in the monastery, on 2 December around 11:00 AM, a heavy weapon shell fired by so-called PDF terrorists landed and exploded within the monastery compound, resulting in Mg Wai Yan Moe sustaining the aforementioned injury, it is reported.
Security personnel are investigating the incident to take punitive action against terrorists who attacked with heavy weapons onto a Ward, causing an innocent civilian to sustain injuries, as soonest in accordance with the law and to maintain stability and peace in the region, it is reported.
