Some KNLA Brigade (6) members who support terrorism fired heavy weapons targeting the security personnel taking local security measures in the vicinity of Kyaikdon Town of Kyarinseikkgyi Township in Kayin State on the evening of 23 May, resulting in the death of a child and injury of other child, it is reported.
The incident happened that, on 23 May at 03:40 PM, some KNLA Brigade (6) members who support terrorism fired heavy weapons targeting the security personnel taking local security measures in the vicinity of Kyaikdon Town of Kyarinseikkgyi Township, from a location approximately 1000 meters northwest of the Town. They then retreated after clash with security personnel towards north of the Town. The heavy weapon shells fired by the insurgents fell and exploded near a bridge at the entrance of Kyaikdon town killing a 14-year-old child and injuring another 9-year-old child.
Security personnel are investigating to take punitive action against those terrorists who opened fire with heavy towards the Town, where innocent civilians live, as soonest in line with the law and to maintain stability and peace in the region, it is reported.
