A child was killed in a reckless attack with heavy weapons onto the Village where innocent civilians reside carried out by armed insurgents who support terrorism

     In regions and states, insurgent groups supporting terrorism and so-called PDF terrorist groups have been carrying out terrorist acts against non-military targets. These acts include detonating public roads and bridges, dropping bombs, firing heavy arms, using improvised mortars, and setting fire to residential houses in areas where innocent civilians reside, such as wards and villages.
     Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 18 October, at 05:00 PM, an armed insurgent group supporting terrorism (under scrutiny) recklessly attacked with heavy weapons onto Nantyaetaung Village of Hpakant Township in Kachin State. One of the heavy weapon shells landed and exploded near a public well located in Nantyaetaung Village. As a result of the explosion, Ma Thel Su Mon (12 years old) who was bathing at the well sustained three injuries from the heavy weapon shell shrapnel, penetrating her occiput, left forearm and left waist. Unfortunately, she was dead from her injuries while receiving medical treatment at the “Shwe Pyi Thit” private hospital, it is reported.
     Security personnel are investigating the incident to take punitive action against terrorists who wantonly attacked with heavy weapon onto Village where innocent civilians reside, resulting in the death of a child, as soonest in accordance with the law and to maintain stability and peace in the region, it is reported.
