On the morning of 4 January, a collaborative group comprising KNLA members, who support terrorism and so-called PDF terrorists, detonated the “Kwinchaung” Bridge along the Yangon-Mandalay Highway located approximately 3000 meters south of Kanyutkwin Town in Pyu Township, Bago Region.
The explosion caused approximately 60 feet of the Kanyutkwin side of the “Kwinchaung” Reinforced Concrete Bridge, which measuring 300 feet in length and 50 feet in width, to collapsed and be destroyed. This bridge is vital for transportation of the local community. As a result, vehicles are currently unable to pass through it. Fortunately, on one hurt in this incident, it is reported.
Officials from the Department of Roads and Bridges are currently dedicated to speedy repairing the damaged bridge, and security personnel are actively conducting a Counter-Terrorism Operation, it is reported.
