A Monk and Innocent Civilian Recklessly Shot Dead by So-called PDF Terrorists

In some townships across States and Regions, armed terrorists motivated by a radical ideology that views 'anyone with differing views is an enemy' are conducting violent assaults and assassinations. Their targets are civil servants, administrative officials and innocent civilians who do not support their terrorist acts. Using firearms and knives, these terrorists are committing brutal assassinations after accusing them of 'spies, informants or decoys'. This strategy is intended to instill fear among peaceable civilians and create a pervasive sense of dread within these communities.
Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 27 May, 2024 at 7:45 AM, a group of approximately 20 so-called PDF terrorists using motorcycles and motor vehicles entered Hta Naung Kaine Village, Mahlaing Township, Mandalay Region. The terrorists opened fire on U Myint Win (58 years old), a resident of the village, and took six mobile phones, two motorcycles, MMK 30 lakhs, a laptop computer, a drone and a camera from his house. Additionally, they shot Abbot U Thaw Bi Tha (46 years old and 26 years of monkhood) and also took a motorcycle and two mobile phones from the monastery before fleeing. As a result, U Myint Win and Abbot U Thaw Bi Tha died on the spot from their gunshot injuries, it is reported.
Security personnel are persistently taking necessary measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for the killings and assassinations of a monk and a civilian in the aforementioned case, it is reported.
