A monk sustained injuries by wantonly fired with small weapons by so-called PDF terrorists in Wetlet Township

     As political extremists with the intent of destabilizing the country and instilling fear among the population, they engage in terrorist attacks on governmental structures, roads, bridges and schools. These attacks involve shootings and the ruthless killing of state employees. Moreover, terrorists target Buddhist religious buildings and monasteries, resorting to detonating mines and apprehending or killing monks, it is reported.
     Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 13 January at 1:20 PM, approximately 20 so-called PDF terrorists, armed with small weapons, entered No. (3) Ward of Wetlet Township, Sagaing Region. Subsequently, the terrorists indiscriminately discharged their small weapons within the Ward. Aa a result, U Nijyawdha (aka) U Shwe Tun (53 years old), a Doun laba Monk taking temporary monkhood, who was walking in the compound of Khyopin Monastery, sustained a gunshot injury to his left cheek and was transported to Wetlet Township Public Hospital for medical treatment, it is reported.
     Security personnel are conducting an investigation into the incident to pursue punitive measures against the terrorists responsible for firing small weapons within the ward, leading to injuries to a monk, as mentioned earlier. This action is in accordance with the law and is aimed at upholding stability and peace in the region, it is reported.
