A monk was passed away by gunfire from so-called PDF terrorists in Sinku Township

As political extremists with the intent of destabilizing the country and instilling fear among the population, they engage in terrorist attacks on governmental structures, roads, bridges, and schools. These attacks involve shootings and the ruthless killing of state employees. Moreover, terrorists target Buddhist religious buildings and monasteries, resorting to detonating mines and apprehending or killing monks, it is reported.
Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 16 January at 7:30 AM, a report stated that a monk was passed away by gunfire in Khatetchin Village of Sinku Township, Mandalay Region. Security personnel promptly arrived at the scene and conducted an inspection. During the investigation, it was found that Bhante U Suvarna (aka) U Thant Zin (49 years old and a year of monastic life), who lived in the Maharbawdi monastery located in this village, was at the monastery when a group of five so-called PDF terrorists (under investigation), arrived and opened fire on him. As a result, Bhante U Suvarna (aka) U Thant Zin was dead from a bullet penetrating injury on his occiput, it is reported.
Security personnel are conducting an investigation into the incident to pursue punitive measures against the terrorists responsible for killing of a monk, as mentioned earlier. This action is in accordance with the law and is aimed at upholding stability and peace in the region, it is reported.
