A Passenger Killed, 24 Passengers including a Monk Injured who are Travelling from Yangon City to Monywa Town in Coaches, had been Attacked by So-Called PDF Terrorists with Explosive Devices and Small Weapons near Nga Shan Village in Chaung-U Township

     On the morning of June 30, 2024 coaches travelling form Yangon City to Monywa Town were attacked near Nga Shan Village in Chaung-U Township. The attack, carried out by the so-called PDF terrorists, with explosive devices and small weapons, resulting in fatalities and injuries among the passengers, it is reported.
     The incident was occurred that a total of eight coaches; a “Shwe Sin Sat Khyar” express bus, a “Sein Htay Hlaing” express bus, a “New Swan” express bus, three “FAMOUS” express buses, a “Shwe Mandalar” express, and a “Shwe Thalar” express bus departing from Yangon City en route to Monywa Town. On 30 June, 2024 at around 8:30 AM, as the vehicles were passing near Nga Shan Village in Chaung-U Township when they arrived at the east side of the village and were attacked by so-called PDF terrorists with explosive devices and small weapons, it is reported.
     As a result of the attacks, a female passenger died on the spot, while a monk and 13 men, along with 10 women, sustained injuries, it is reported.
     The security personnel from Monywa Town and Chaung-U Town swiftly responded to the incident to provide necessary security and conduct rescue operations. While en route, they encountered the so-called PDF terrorists who ambushed them on the Mandalay-Monywa Road, approximately 2,000 meters east of the village. The terrorists subsequently retreated and fled to the north.
     The security personnel immediately went to the incident and took the necessary measures. As a result, they identified and seized 30 unexploded explosive devices. Security personnel transported the injured passengers to Monywa Township Public Hospital for medical treatment.
     U Myat Kyaw, the Prime Minister of Sagaing Region, along with officials from the North Western Military Headquarters, visited the hospital to encourage the injured passengers, arranged for necessary medical treatment and provided them with financial support.
     Security personnel are conducting searches to locate the so-called PDF terrorists affiliated with CRPH and NUG, who attacked innocent travellers unrelated to military targets with any reason. Furthermore, security personnel are pursuing and attacking the retreating terrorists. Additionally, the security measures are being heightened in collaboration with responsible citizens to ensure passenger safety, it is reported.
