A police officer and his wife, who were visiting their parents to pay homage, were killed, while their two-year-old son was injured, during a brutal shooting attack by so-called PDF terrorists in Thalunephyu Village of Sagaing Township, it is reported.
The incident happened that On the morning of on 13 September, a police officer stationed at Tada-U Airport, accompanied by his wife, a nine-year-old daughter, and a two-year-old son, travelled in a Honda Fit motor vehicle to visit their parents and pay their respects. Later that day, at 3:10 PM, as they were returning to their vehicle parked near the 'Shwebonethar' monastery in the village en route to Tada-U Airport, three so-called PDF terrorists, who had been lying in wait, opened fire on the police officer. After the officer fell, five more terrorists, who had been hiding in a nearby flower farm, joined in the attack, resulting in the police officer's death from two gunshot wounds to his head (crown and right temple). Additionally, his two-year-old son sustained a non-fatal gunshot wound to his buttock.
Subsequently, the terrorists apprehended the police officer's wife, who was still in their Honda Fit vehicle, and tragically, they shot and killed her upon reaching the west side of Thalunephyu Village. She suffered a fatal gunshot wound to the crown of her head. The terrorists then transported her lifeless body back to the previous scene in the vehicle, where they left her. Afterward, the terrorists absconded with the Honda Fit vehicle.
On the day of the incident, the police officer and his family were visiting their long-separated parents to pay their respects, adhering to the Buddhist tradition. This visit was not related to his security duties or any other specific purposes. Furthermore, his wife was an ordinary civilian with no political affiliations, leading an honest and ordinary life.
So-called PDF terrorists are targeting civil service personnel, assassinating them, and in order to prevent them from continuing to perform their duties, the terrorists are taking unjust actions against their family members, including parents, wives, and children, who have no political affiliations and lead honest lives. These actions include arrests, detentions on various pretexts, as well as acts of terrorism such as kidnapping, coercion, extortion, and other brutal acts of violence. These irrational and inhumane actions have left the public appalled and unable to accept the terrorists' behavior. Security personnel are actively investigating the incidents and are committed to taking punitive actions against the terrorists in accordance with the law, it is reported.
