With the intent to damage local transportation networks, the terrorist groups of extremism are conducting destructive activities and sabotage such as detonating explosive devices and remote mine attacks on the roads and burning down bridges.
In doing such destructive acts, on 15 June, 2024 at 11:45 AM, security personnel received a report stating that a so-called PDF terrorist group burned down and destroyed a bridge on Htan Kone – Kar Bo Village road in Kanbalu Township of Sagaing Region. When security personnel arrived there for further investigation, they discovered that a so-called PDF group (number under scrutiny) set fire and destroyed an iron bridge with a wooden floor (80 feet in length and 14 feet in width) located three furlongs to the north of Kyikone village of Kanbalu Township of Sagaing Region at 2:00 AM. Due to their action, the wooden floor of the bridge was destroyed by fire and motor vehicles could not cross over it.
Responsible persons are taking measures to repair the bridge as early as possible and security personnel are carrying out their duties as per security protocols to take punitive actions against the terrorists who destroyed the bridge and also to restore community peace and stability, it is reported.
