Extremist terrorist groups are engaging in subversive activities, including setting fires and detonating explosives on public roads and bridges, with the aim of disrupting regional road connections.
The incident occurred that, on 8 December at 11:50 PM, according to the report that a terrorist group (under scrutiny) detonated an explosion at the Thetyetseik bridge, located on the Yangon-Mandalay Highway between mile post 142/2 and 142/3 near Htankone (south) Village in Oaktwin Township, Bago Region. Security personnel went to the scene and conducted an inspection. According to the investigation, it is found that approximately 12 feet of the west side of concrete bridge (measuring 24 feet in length and 38 feet in width) had collapsed and sustained damage due to the explosion. Remarkably, despite the damage, there was no interruption in the passage of vehicles, it is reported.
Responsible officials are now repairing the damaged bridge and security personnel are continue taking necessary measures to take punitive legal actions against the terrorists who blew up the bridge as soonest in accordance with law and to maintain stability and peace in the region, it is reported.
