In some townships across States and Regions, so-called PDF terrorists motivated by a radical ideology that views “anyone with differing views is an enemy” are conducting violent assaults and assassinations. Their targets are civil servants, administrative officials and innocent civilians who do not support their terrorist acts. Using firearms and knives, these terrorists are committing brutal assassinations after accusing them of “spies, informants or decoys”. This strategy is intended to instill fear among peaceable civilians and create a pervasive sense of dread within these communities.
Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 5 July, 2024 at 3:30 PM, a report stated that a man was shot dead in Tha Nat Kan Village, Yenanchaung Township, Magway Region. When security personnel promptly arrived at the scene for further investigation, it was discovered that U Sein Mya Aung (51 years old) and a resident of the village, was in his house, six so-called PDF terrorists arrived by four motorcycles. They opened fire on him, took 10 lakhs MMK from an iron box in the house and then fled. Consequently, U Sein Mya Aung died on the spot from gunshot injuries, it is reported.
Similarly, at 6:45 PM, a report stated that a man and woman were shot dead in Joke Pin Village, Myingyan Township, Mandalay Region. When security personnel promptly arrived at the scene for further investigation, it was discovered that while Village Administrator U Maung Maung Than (50 years old) and his wife Daw Moe Moe Yi (50 years old) both residents of the village, were in their home, five so-called PDF terrorists arrived by two motorcycles and opened fire on them. Consequently, both died on the spot from gunshot injuries, it is reported.
Similarly, at 7:30 PM, a report stated that a woman with gunshot injuries had arrived at the Township Public Hospital in Myingyan Township, Mandalay Region. When security personnel promptly arrived at the scene for further investigation, it was discovered that the victim was Daw Yin Htay (38 years old) and a resident of Tu Ywin Bot Village in Myingyan Township. While she was in her house, six so-called PDF terrorists arrived by three motorcycles and opened fire on her, resulting in her injuries, it is reported.
Security personnel are persistently taking necessary measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for the killings and assassinations of administrative officials and innocent civilians in the aforementioned cases, it is reported.
