Administrative Officials and Innocent Civilians Recklessly Assassinated by So-called PDF Terrorists

In some townships across States and Regions, so-called PDF terrorists motivated by a radical ideology that views “anyone with differing views is an enemy” are conducting violent assaults and assassinations. Their targets are innocent civilians who do not support their terrorist acts. Using firearms and knives, these terrorists are committing brutal assassinations after accusing them of “spies, informants or decoys”. This strategy is intended to instill fear among peaceable civilians and create a pervasive sense of dread within these communities.
Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 8 August, 2024 at 10:30 AM, a report stated that two men were shot dead near Myin Ywar Gyi Village in Myitthar Township of Mandalay Region. As a result, U Htay Win died on the spot, it is reported.
Likewise, on 9 August at 8:45 AM, a report stated that a man was found dead with gunshot wounds near Gway Gyi Kone Village in Patheingyi Township. When security personnel promptly arrived at the scene for further investigation, it was discovered that an approximately 30-year-old man (whose identity is under investigation) had been shot dead by a terrorist group on the roadside outskirts of the village. The deceased was transported to Mandalay Public Hospital for examination, it is reported.
