In some townships across States and Regions, so-called PDF terrorists motivated by a radical ideology that views “anyone with differing views is an enemy” are conducting violent assaults and assassinations. Their targets are innocent civilians who do not support their terrorist acts. Using firearms and knives, these terrorists are committing brutal assassinations after accusing them of “spies, informants or decoys”. This strategy is intended to instill fear among peaceable civilians and create a pervasive sense of dread within these communities.
Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 9 August, 2024 at 1:00 PM, a report stated that four men were found dead with gunshot wounds along the roadside of the Ngazun-Ngamyar Road near Ku La Village in Ngazun Township of Mandalay Region. When security personnel promptly arrived at the scene for further investigation, it was discovered that an approximately (28 years old) man (under investigation), an approximately (30 years old) man (under investigation), an approximately (22 years old) man (under investigation), and an approximately (32 years old) man (under investigation) had been shot dead by a terrorist group at the incident. The dead bodies were transported to Ngazun Township Public Hospital for examination, it is reported.
Similarly, at 3:10 PM, while Village Administrator U Hla Myint Oo (54 years old) and his wife, Daw Ohn Pwint, both residents of Ka Lar Tal Village in Nyaung-U Township, were at their house, eight so-called PDF terrorists arriving by four motorbikes and opened fire on U Hla Myint Oo. As a result, U Hla Myint Oo died on the spot, it is reported.
Similarly, at 7:30 PM, a report stated that a man was shot dead in Than Chat Kone Village in Kyaukse Township. When security personnel promptly arrived at the scene for further investigation, it was discovered that the victim was U Phar (60 years old) a 100-household elder and resident of the village. He was heading to a field on the outskirts of the village to herd cows. Upon arriving near the field, he was shot dead by a so-called PDF terrorist group. As a result, he died on the spot, it is reported.
Security personnel are persistently taking necessary measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for the killings and assassinations of administrative officials and innocent civilians in the aforementioned cases, it is reported.
