In some townships across States and Regions, so-called PDF terrorists motivated by a radical ideology that views “anyone with differing views is an enemy” are conducting violent assaults and assassinations. Their targets are innocent civilians who do not support their terrorist acts. Using firearms and knives, these terrorists are committing brutal assassinations after accusing them of “spies, informants or decoys”. This strategy is intended to instill fear among peaceable civilians and create a pervasive sense of dread within these communities.
Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 24 September, 2024 at 1:00 PM, a report stated that two men were shot dead and another man was injured in Ywar Htaung Ward, Aunglan Township of Magway Region. When security personnel promptly arrived at the scene for further investigation, it was discovered that the victim were identified as Village Administrator U Myint Swe (43 years old), a resident of Taloat Pin Village in Aunglan Township, Ko Zaw Myo Oo (27 years old), a resident of Kyauk Swal Khyo Village and U Moe Naing (39 years old), a resident of Ywar Htaung Ward. While the victims were at the house of Daw Soe in Ywar Htaung Ward, two so-called PDF terrorists arriving by a motorcycle, opened fire on them before fleeing. As a result, U Myint Swe and Ko Zaw Myo Oo died on the spot, while U Moe Naing sustained gunshot wounds. The deceased and injured man were transported to Aunglan Township Public Hospital for examination and medical treatment, it is reported.
Similarly, at 3:00 PM, a report stated that a man was killed by stabbing in the (18) Mile Village, Oaktwin Township of Bago Region. When security personnel promptly arrived at the scene for further investigation, it was discovered that the victim was identified as U Maung Thein (52 years old), a resident of the village. While the victim was at his house, five so-called PDF terrorists arrived and abducted him. Later, when the terrorists were near the Phyu Protected Public Forest, approximately 1,000 meters south of the village, they stabbed U Maung Thein with a knife. As a result, U Maung Thein died on the spot, it is reported.
Similarly, at 3:00 PM, a report stated that a woman was shot dead near Phaung Kar Village, Myingyan Township of Mandalay Region. When security personnel promptly arrived at the scene for further investigation, it was discovered that the victim was identified as Ma Moe Swe (35 years old), a resident of Nat Htar Village in Myingyan Township. The victim was heading to Phaung Kar Village on foot along the village commutable road between Nat Htar Village and Phaung Kar Village. When she arrived near Phaung Kar Village, six so-called PDF terrorists arrived on three motorcycles and opened fire on her. As a result, Ma Moe Swe died on the spot, it is reported.
Similarly, at 6:00 PM, a report stated that a man was shot dead in Gyobin Sakhan Village, Gyobingauk Township of Bago Region. When security personnel promptly arrived at the scene for further investigation, it was discovered that the victim was identified as U Thein Oo (61 years old), a 100-household elder and a resident of the village. While the victim was at his house, five so-called PDF terrorists arriving by two motorcycles and opened fire on him. As a result, U Thein Oo died on the spot, it is reported.
Security personnel are persistently taking necessary measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for the killings and assassinations of administrative officials and innocent civilians in the aforementioned cases, it is reported.
