In some townships across the States and Regions, armed terrorists motivated by a radical ideology that views 'anyone with differing views is an enemy' are conducting violent assaults and assassinations. Their targets are civil servants, administrative officials and innocent civilians who do not support their terrorist acts. Using firearms and knives, these terrorists are committing brutal assassinations after accusing them of “spies, informants or decoys”. This strategy is intended to instill fear among peaceable civilians and create a pervasive sense of dread within these communities.
Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 1 June, 2024 at 11:00 PM, security personnel received a report stating that two men were shot dead in Ar-poat Village, Ye Township, Mon State. When security personnel promptly arrived at the scene for further investigation, they discovered that the victims were identified as U Kyaw Lwin Oo (42 years old) and U Kyaw Zin Moe (32 years old) who both lived in the village. The incident occurred while U Kyaw Lwin Oo was in his house with U Kyaw Zin Moe, two so-called PDF terrorists arrived by two motorcycles and opened fire on them. Consequently, they died on the spot from gunshot injuries, it is reported.
Similarly, on 2 June, 2024 at 1:15 PM, security personnel received a report stating that a man was shot dead in Kan Thar Yar Village, Oakpho Township, Bago Region. When security personnel promptly arrived at the scene for further investigation, it was discovered that while U Saw Khu Htoo (52 years old), a resident of the village, was at his house, three individuals from the KNU members who support terrorism and so-called PDF terrorists arrived by a motorcycle and opened fire on him. Consequently, U Saw Khu Htoo died on the spot from gunshot injuries, it is reported.
Similarly, on 2 June, 2024 at 1:30 PM, security personnel received a report stating that a man and a woman were shot dead in Nyaung Kone Village, Mahlaing Township, Mandalay Region. When security personnel promptly arrived at the scene for further investigation, they discovered that the victims were U Kyaw Ye Aung (39 years old), a clerk of Myin Oo Hlat Village Tract and Daw Shwe Zin Win (29 years old), a clerk of Phyak Seik Kyin Village Tract. While they were at their respective houses, eight so-called PDF terrorists arrived by four motorcycles and opened fire on them. Additionally, the terrorists took two mobile phones belonging to Daw Shwe Zin Win. Consequently, both victims died on the spot from gunshot injuries, it is reported.
Security personnel are persistently taking necessary measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for the casualties of administrative officials and civilians in the aforementioned cases, it is reported.
