In some townships across States and Regions, so-called PDF terrorists motivated by a radical ideology that views “anyone with differing views is an enemy” are conducting violent assaults and assassinations. Their targets are innocent civilians who do not support their terrorist acts. Using firearms and knives, these terrorists are committing brutal assassinations after accusing them of “spies, informants or decoys”. This strategy is intended to instill fear among peaceable civilians and create a pervasive sense of dread within these communities.
Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 13 July, 2024 at 6:40 AM, a report stated that a man and woman were shot dead in Sin Tal Village, Tada-U Township, Mandalay Region. When security personnel promptly arrived at the scene for further investigation, it was discovered that the victims were Village Administrator U Myo Win Tun (40 years old) and his wife Daw San San Yin (40 years old), both residents of Ponnar Chan village in Tada-U Township. The victims were transferring their cows from Ponnar Chan Village to Sin Tal Village. Upon reaching a water well north of Sin Tal Village, a so-called PDF terrorist group opened fire on them, resulting in both of them dying on the spot, it is reported.
Similarly, at 7:30 AM, a report stated that three men were shot dead in Myay Ngu Village, Tada-U Township. When security personnel promptly arrived at the scene for further investigation, it was discovered that the victims were U Yan Aung (49 years old), U Kyaw Kyaw Zin (37 years old) and U Soe Thu (38 years old), all residents of the village. While the victims were in their respective houses, a so-called PDF terrorist group arrived and opened fire accusing them of being “informants, Decoys”. As a result, they died on the spot, it is reported.
Similarly, on 14 July at 7:00 AM, a report stated that a woman was injured by gunfire in Jake Lape Village, Pathein Township, Ayeyarwady Region. When security personnel promptly arrived at the scene for further investigation, it was discovered that the victim was Daw Khin Kying (67 years old) and a resident of the village. While the victim was in her house, five so-called PDF terrorists arrived and opened fire on her before fleeing. As a result, Daw Khin Kying sustained gunshot injuries and was transported to Ma Kyee Zin Circuit Hospital for medical treatment, it is reported.
Similarly, at 8:30 AM, a report stated that a man was shot dead in Hman Tan Ward, Amarapura Township, Mandalay Region. When security personnel promptly arrived at the scene for further investigation, it was discovered that the victim was U Kyaw Sein (51 years old), a 100-household elder and a resident of Thar Lay Swa Village. The victim was returning on his motorcycle from Mandalay City to the village. When he reached Bargayar Kyaung turn on the Sagaing-Mandalay Road in Hman Tan Ward, two so-called PDF terrorists, who were riding on a motorcycle, followed him, opened fire on him and then fled. As a result, U Kyaw Sein died on the spot, it is reported.
Security personnel are persistently taking necessary measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for the killings and assassinations of administrative officials and innocent civilians in the aforementioned cases, it is reported.
