In some townships across States and Regions, so-called PDF terrorists motivated by a radical ideology that views “anyone with differing views is an enemy” are conducting violent assaults and assassinations. Their targets are innocent civilians who do not support their terrorist acts. Using firearms and knives, these terrorists are committing brutal assassinations after accusing them of “spies, informants or decoys”. This strategy is intended to instill fear among peaceable civilians and create a pervasive sense of dread within these communities.
Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 17 July, 2024 at 8:30 AM, a report stated that three men and two women were killed and another man was injured by gunfire and stabbing in Tu Ma Ya Village, Mingin Township of Sagaing Region. While they were in their respective houses, approximately 70 so-called PDF terrorists arrived and abducted them, accusing of being “Decoys”. The terrorists took them to a bridge located at the entrance of the village, where they opened fire and stabbed them. As a result, U Win Swe, U Tin Win, U Chit Ko Ko, Daw Hla Lay Nwe and Daw Myo Myo Win (aka) Pauk Sa died on the spot. However, U Tu Naing sustained gunshot and knife injuries and was transported to Mingin Township Public Hospital for medical treatment, it is reported.

While they were farming in a corn plantation south of the village, a so-called PDF terrorist group opened fire on them. As a result, both sustained gunshot injuries and were transported to “Sao San Tun” Hospital in Taunggyi Town for medical treatment, it is reported.
Similarly, at 5:00 PM, Ah-lal Bo Village Tract Administrator U Aung Ko Ko (41 years old) and a resident of Lat Pan Village in Magway Township of Magway Region, was travelling on his motorcycle from his village to Thit Yar Kaunk Village along the Koe Pin Kwet-Thit Yar Kaunk road.
