In some townships across States and Regions, so-called PDF terrorists motivated by a radical ideology that views “anyone with differing views is an enemy” are conducting violent assaults and assassinations. Their targets are innocent civilians who do not support their terrorist acts. Using firearms and knives, these terrorists are committing brutal assassinations after accusing them of “spies, informants or decoys”. This strategy is intended to instill fear among peaceable civilians and create a pervasive sense of dread within these communities.
Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 18 July, 2024 at 10:15 AM, a report stated that a man was shot dead near Zayit Chaung Village in Minhla Township of Bago Region. When security personnel promptly arrived at the scene for further investigation, it was discovered that the victim was U Aung Myint Oo (49 years old), a resident of the village. The victim was returning home on his motorcycle from Minhla Town. When the victim arrived near Zayit Chaung Village, two so-called PDF terrorists who were following him on a motorcycle, opened fire on him. As a result, the victim died on the spot, it is reported.
Similarly, at 3:15 PM, a report stated that a man was shot dead on the roadside of the Myanmar Si Kwa Village and Shar Phyu Kwin Village Commutable Road in Minhla Township. When security personnel promptly arrived at the scene for further investigation, it was discovered that the victim was U Kyaw Min Aung (39 years old), a resident of San Boke Village in Minhla Township. The victim was travelling on his motorcycle from his home to Shar Phyu Kwin Village. When the victim arrived at the Myanmar Si Kwa Village and Shar Phyu Kwin Village Commutable Road, a so-called PDF terrorist group opened fire on him. As a result, the victim died on the spot, it is reported.
Similarly, at 3:15 PM, a report stated that two men were shot dead in Thee Kone Village, Myothit Township of Magway Region. When security personnel promptly arrived at the scene for further investigation, it was discovered that the victims were Village Administrator U Tun Tun Oo (51 years old) and his son Ko Wai Zaw (aka) Wai Zaw Tun (26 years old), both residents of the village. While the victims were in their home, four so-called PDF terrorists arrived and opened fire on them before fleeing. As a result, both died on the spot, it is reported.
Similarly, at 5:00 PM, U Ye Lin Aung (36 years old), a 100-household elder, a resident of Dauk Inn Kone Village in Yaedashe Township of Bago Region, was in his house, when nine so-called PDF terrorists arrived by five motorcycles and opened fire on him. As a result, U Ye Lin Aung died on the spot, it is reported.
Security personnel are persistently taking necessary measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for the killings and assassinations of administrative official and innocent civilians in the aforementioned cases, it is reported.
