In some townships across the States and Regions, armed terrorists motivated by a radical ideology that views 'anyone with differing views is an enemy' are conducting violent assaults and assassinations. Their targets are civil servants, administrative officials and innocent civilians who do not support their terrorist acts. Using firearms and knives, these terrorists are committing brutal assassinations after accusing them of “spies, informants or decoys.” This strategy is intended to instill fear among peaceable civilians and create a pervasive sense of dread within these communities.
Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 5 June, 2024 at 10:25 AM, security personnel received a report stating that a man had been shot and stabbed to death in Pa Late (Ywar Ma) Village, Singaing Township, Mandalay Region. When security personnel promptly arrived at the scene for further investigation, they discovered that the victim was identified as U Aung Tun (aka) Tun Tun (42 years old), a 100-household elder and resident of the village. The incident occurred while U Aung Tun (aka) Tun Tun was working in his motorcycle workshop; four so-called PDF terrorists arrived by two motorcycles, opened fire, and stabbed him with knives. Additionally, the terrorists took a mobile phone and 80,000 MMK before fleeing. Consequently, U Aung Tun (aka) Tun Tun died on the spot from gunshot and knife injuries, it is reported.
Similarly, at 2:30 PM, security personnel received a report stating that a man was shot dead near Ngwar Ban Gyi Village in Ywarngan Township of Southern Shan State. When security personnel promptly arrived at the scene for further investigation, they discovered that the victim was identified as U Man Kyaw (aka) Tin Myint (60 years old), a resident of the village. The incident occurred while U Man Kyaw (aka) Tin Myint was farming in his upland field, located approximately three furlongs north of the village; four terrorists arrived and opened fire on him. Consequently, U Man Kyaw (aka) Tin Myint died on the spot from gunshot injuries, it is reported.
Security personnel are persistently taking necessary measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for the death of the administrative official and innocent civilian in the aforementioned cases, it is reported.
