In some townships across States and Regions, armed terrorists driven by a radicalized ideology that considers 'Anyone with differing views is an enemy' are carrying out violent assaults and assassinations. Their targets include civil services, administrative officials and innocent civilians who do not endorse their terrorist activities. Using firearms and knives, they accuse these individuals of being 'spies,' 'informants,' or 'decoys' to instill fear among peace-seeking civilians, causing a pervasive sense of dread within these communities.
Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 31 March at 2:30 PM, a report stated that a man was killed and a woman injured by gunfire in No. (30) Ward, Dagon Myothit (Northern) Township, Yangon Region. Security personnel promptly arrived at the scene and conducted an inspection. During the investigation, it was found that Ward Administrator U Kyi Tun and his wife, Daw Sandar Aye (50 years old), who both live in the ward, were leaving their home on a sidecar motorcycle driven by U Hla Win (64 years old), who also lives in the ward, headed to the Ward Administrator’s Office. As they arrived on Bozinyaw (1) Street, a so-called PDF terrorist who was on foot, opened fire on them before fleeing the scene. As a result, U Kyi Tun died from gunshot injuries, while Daw Sandar Win sustained injuries. Both the deceased and the injured were transported to No. (1) Military Hospital (1000-bedded) in Mingalardon Township for examination and medical treatment, it is reported.
Similarly, on 31 March at 7:50 PM, a report stated that a man was killed by gunfire on the dirt road between Thitpoat Village and Pyanchitet Village in Paunde Township, Bago Region. Security personnel conducted an inspection. During the investigation, it was found that on 30 March at 4:40 PM, U Naing Gyi (50 years old), who lived in Thitpoat Village, was travelling alone on his bullock cart to Pyanchitet Villge. As he was on the dirt road, a so-called PDF terrorist group opened fire on him. As a result, U Naing Gyi died from gunshot injuries, it is reported.
Similarly, on 1 April at 5:30 PM, a report stated that a man was killed by gunfire in Pansit Village, Pindaya Township, Southern Shan State. Security personnel conducted an inspection. During the investigation, it was found that U Chit Phay (64 years old), who lived in the village, was in his house when a so-called PDF terrorist group opened fire on him. As a result, U Chit Phay died from gunshot injuries, it is reported.
Security personnel are persistently undertaking essential measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for killings and assassinations of administrative official and innocent civilians in the abovementioned cases, it is reported.
