In some townships across States and Regions, armed terrorists driven by a radicalized ideology that considers 'Anyone with differing views is an enemy' are carrying out violent assaults and assassinations. Their targets include civil services, administrative officials and innocent civilians who do not endorse their terrorist activities. Using firearms and knives, they accuse these individuals of being 'spies,' 'informants,' or 'decoys' to instill fear among peace-seeking civilians, causing a pervasive sense of dread within these communities.
Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 21 March at 12:20 PM, a report stated that a man was killed and another injured by gunfire between Ywarhtaungkone Village and Tharpoung Village in Thelgon Township, Bago Region. Security personnel promptly arrived at the scene and conducted an inspection. During the investigation, it was found that Village Administrator U Myint Swe (67 years old), who lived in Tharpoung Village, and U Phyo Wai Myint (46 years old), a clerk of the Village Group, who lives in No. (2) Ward, Thelgon Town, were returning on a motorcycle from Thelgon Town to Tharpoung Village. As they neared the incident site, two so-called PDF terrorists riding a motorcycle, followed them and opened fire before fleeing the scene. As a result, U Myint Swe died from gunshot injuries, while U Phyo Wai Myint, who also sustained gunshot injuries, was transported to the No. (6) Military Hospital (100 bedded) in Shwedaung Town for medical treatment, it is reported.
Similarly, at 3:15 PM, a report stated that a man was killed by gunfire in Thatipatan Ward, Palnwekone Town, Kyauktaga Township, Bago Region. Security personnel promptly arrived at the scene and conducted an inspection. During the investigation, it was found that U San Aung Nyunt (aka) Lu Mone (40 years old), who lived in the ward, was visiting the house of Daw Nwe Nwe Win, who also lives in the same ward, when three so-called PDF terrorists arrived on a motorcycle and opened fire on him. As a result, U San Aung Nyunt (aka) Lu Mone died from gunshot injuries, it is reported.
Similarly, at 5:15 PM, a report stated that a man was killed by gunfire near Winau Village, Natmauk Township, Magway Region. Security personnel promptly arrived at the scene and conducted an inspection. During the investigation, it was found that U Myat Zaw (58 years old) who lived in Saikaung Village, was leaving his home on his motorcycle headed for Winau Village. Upon reaching the incident site, two so-called PDF terrorists riding a motorcycle, followed him and opened fire. Additionally, the terrorists robbed him of his mobile phone and motorcycle. As a result, U Myat Zaw died from gunshot injuries, it is reported.
Security personnel are persistently undertaking essential measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for killings and assassinations of administrative officials and innocent civilians in the abovementioned cases, it is reported.
