In some townships across States and Regions, armed terrorists driven by a radicalized ideology that considers 'Anyone with differing views is an enemy' are carrying out violent assaults and assassinations. Their targets include civil services, administrative officials and innocent civilians who do not endorse their terrorist activities. Using firearms and knives, they accuse these individuals of being 'spies,' 'informants,' or 'decoys' to instill fear among peace-seeking civilians, causing a pervasive sense of dread within these communities.
Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 25 March at 1:25 PM, a report stated that an abbot had passed away and a man was injured by gunfire at the “Swaltaw” tea shop, located along the Kinmonchaung-Kyaikto Road in Kinmonchaung Village, Kyaikto Township, Mon State. Security personnel promptly arrived at the scene and conducted an inspection. During the investigation, it was found that Abbot U Sandimar (aka) U Zar Ni Soe (47 years old and 18 years in monkhood), abbot of the “Kyaukphyutaung Bawgawadishwekyaung” monastery in the village, and the tea shop owner U Tin Nyein (aka) Tin Aung (59 years old), were inside the tea shop when two so-called PDF terrorists arrived on a motorcycle and opened fire on them before fleeing. As a result, Abbot U Sandimar (aka) U Zar Ni Soe passed away from gunshot injuries, while U Tin Nyein (aka) Tin Aung sustained gunshot injuries, and was transported to Kyaikto Township Public Hospital for medical treatment, it is reported.
Similarly, on 25 March at 5:35 PM, a report stated that a man was killed by gunfire in Thaminkatoat Village, Mindon Township, Magway Region. Security personnel promptly arrived at the scene and conducted an inspection. During the investigation, it was found that Village Administrator, U Win Aung (49 years old), who lived in the village, was in his home when four so-called PDF terrorists arrived on two motorcycles and detained him. Subsequently, upon reaching a location approximately two furlongs west of the village, these terrorists opened fire on U Win Aung. As a result, U Win Aung died from gunshot injuries, it is reported.
Similarly, on 26 March at 12:35 AM, a 100-household elder, U Lu Myint (aka) U Hmon (55 years old), who lived in Bantpyin Village, Salin Township, Magway Region, was in his home when four so-called PDF terrorists arrived and detained him. Later, upon reaching the Thayettaw-Sinphyukyun Road, approximately two miles west of the village, they opened fire on U Lu Myint (aka) U Hmon. As a result, U Lu Myint (aka) U Hmon died from gunshot injuries, it is reported.
Similarly, on 26 March at 4:00 AM, a 10-household elder, U Htay Aung (50 years old), who lives in No. (1) Ward, Nantmon Town, Mohnyin Township, Kachin State, was selling goods at the market when a so-called PDF terrorist arrived and opened fire on him before fleeing. As a result, U Htay Aung sustained gunshot injuries and was transported to Nantmon Circuit Hospital for medical treatment, it is reported.
Security personnel are persistently undertaking essential measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for killings and assassinations of administrative officials and innocent civilians in the abovementioned cases, it is reported.
