In some townships across States and Regions, armed terrorists driven by a radicalized ideology that considers 'Anyone with differing views is an enemy' are carrying out violent assaults and assassinations. Their targets include civil services, administrative officials and innocent civilians who do not endorse their terrorist activities. Using firearms and knives, they accuse these individuals of being 'spies,' 'informants,' or 'decoys' to instill fear among peace-seeking civilians, causing a pervasive sense of dread within these communities.
Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 19 April, 2024 at 11:50 PM, a report stated that two men were killed by gunfire near Kallinkone Village, Yedashe Township, Bago Region. Security personnel promptly arrived at the scene and conducted an inspection. During the investigation, it was found that two 100-household elders, U Thaung Naing Oo (aka) Win Tin (45 years old), who lived in Kallinkone Village and U Naing Aung Zin (49 years old), who lived in Natsinkone Village, were returning on a motorcycle from a ceremony at the Kallinkone Village Pagoda. As they reached Kayinchaung Road near the village, three so-called PDF terrorists who had been waiting for them, opened fire on them. As a result, U Thaung Naing Oo (aka) Win Tin and U Naing Aung Zin died from gunshot injuries, it is reported.
Similarly, on 20 April, at 7:30 AM, a report stated that a man was killed by gunfire in Latsel Village, Seikphyu Township, Magway Region. Security personnel promptly arrived at the scene and conducted an inspection. During the investigation, it was found that U Ye Maung (59 years old), who lived in the village, was in his house when eight so-called PDF terrorists arrived on four motorcycles and opened fire before fleeing. As a result, U Ye Maung died from gunshot injuries, it is reported.
Similarly, at 5:30 PM, a report stated that two men were killed and another one was injured by gunfire near Satthwar Village, Taungdwingyi Township. Security personnel promptly arrived at the scene and conducted an inspection. During the investigation, it was found that 100-household elders: U Khin Maung Aye (65 years old), U Than Htay (52 years old) and U Han Oo Khine (42 years old), who all live in the village, were near the boundary of “Mingalar” Lake when a so-called PDF terrorist arrived on motorcycle and opened fire on them before fleeing. As a result, U Khin Maung Aye and U Than Htay died from gunshot injuries, while U Han Oo Khine sustained gunshot injuries. The deceased and injured were transported to Taungdwingyi Township Public Hospital for examination and medical treatment, it is reported.
Security personnel are persistently undertaking essential measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for killings and assassinations of administrative officials and innocent civilian in the abovementioned cases, it is reported.
