Administrative officials and innocent civilians were shot and killed by so-called PDF terrorists

     In some townships across States and Regions, armed terrorists driven by a radicalized ideology that considers 'Anyone with differing views is an enemy' are carrying out violent assaults and assassinations. Their targets include civil services, administrative officials and innocent civilians who do not endorse their terrorist activities. Using firearms and knives, they accuse these individuals of being 'spies,' 'informants,' or 'decoys' to instill fear among peace-seeking civilians, causing a pervasive sense of dread within these communities.
     Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 24 April, 2024 at 3:45 PM, a report stated that a man was killed in Mawwun Ward, Pharkant Township, Kachin State. Security personnel promptly arrived at the scene and conducted an inspection. During the investigation, it was found that U Kyaw Phyo Thant (aka) Palaung (34 years old), who lived in the village, was walking on the ward’s road when two so-called PDF terrorists who were riding a motorcycle, opened fire on him before fleeing. As a result, U Kyaw Phyo Thant (aka) Palaung died from gunshot injuries, it is reported.
     Similarly, at 6:10 PM, a report stated that a man was killed by gunfire in Gwaykone Village, Natmauk Township, Magway Region. Security personnel promptly arrived at the scene and conducted an inspection. During the investigation, it was found that U Nyunt Wai (50 years old), who lived in the village, was in his house when six so-called PDF terrorists arrived on three motorcycles and opened fire on him. As a result, U Nyunt Wai died from gunshot injuries, it is reported.
     Similarly, at 8:15 PM, a report stated that two men were killed and another was injured by gunfire in Kathitkone Village, Kungyangon Township, Yangon Region. Security personnel promptly arrived at the scene and conducted an inspection. During the investigation, it was found that a 100-household elder, U Thein Win (68 years old), his wife, Daw San Win, their son, U Kyaw Soe Thant (43 years old), and their grandson, Mg Arkar Lin Bo (14 years old), who all live in the village, were in their house when five so-called PDF terrorists arrived and attacked them with gunfire and knives. As a result, U Thein Win and Mg Arkar Lin Bo died from gunshot and knife injuries, while U Kyaw Soe Thant sustained injuries. The deceased and injured were transported to Kungyangon Township Public Hospital for examination and medical treatment, it is reported.
     Security personnel are persistently undertaking essential measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for killings and assassinations of administrative official and innocent civilians in the abovementioned cases, it is reported.
