An Administrative Official Recklessly Assassinated by So-called Terrorists

In some townships across States and Regions, terrorists motivated by a radical ideology that views “anyone with differing views is an enemy” are conducting violent assaults and assassinations. Their targets are administrative officials who do not support their terrorist acts. Using firearms and knives, these terrorists are committing brutal assassinations after accusing them of “spies, informants or decoys”. This strategy is intended to instill fear among peaceable civilians and create a pervasive sense of dread within these communities.
Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 19 November 2024 at 8:50 AM, a report stated that a man was shot dead between Chaung Nar Village and Tar Khyoe Village in Minhla Township of Bago Region. When security personnel promptly arrived at the scene for further investigation, it was discovered that the victim was Village Administrator U Khin Tun Lwin (56 years old), a resident of Phyu Kwin Village. The investigation revealed that while the victim was travelling by the motorcycle from the village to Minhla Town along the Phyu Kwin-Minhla road, two so-called PDF terrorists followed him on another motorcycle and opened fire on him between Chaung Nar Village and Tar Khyoe Village. As a result, the victim died on the spot, it is reported.
Security personnel are persistently taking necessary measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for the killing and assassination of administrative official in the aforementioned case, it is reported.
