An armed insurgent group and so-called PDF terrorists blew up the Layphartaw Bridge (locally known as) and the Bridge No. (2/16) in Kyaikto and Kyaukgyi Townships

     Roads/bridges are being constructed as basic infrastructure for the development of socio-economic life in the region and to facilitate convenient and swift transportation for the people. Armed insurgents who support terrorism and the so-called PDF terrorists, who oppose peace and development in the country, have been carrying out reckless acts by blowing up and destroying roads/ bridges with homemade mines and homemade bombs.
      Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 6 July at 03:20 PM, an armed insurgent group and a so-called PDF terrorist group (total number – under scrutiny) blew up the Layphartaw Bridge (locally known as) which is a reinforced concrete Bridge measuring 40 feet long and 20 feet wide. The bridge is located on the Kinmunchaung-Kyaikhteeyo Mountain Road in Mon State. The explosion caused the bridge to collapse from the middle side, making it temporarily impossible for the vehicles to pass through. The bridge was constructed in 1993 using fund from multi-construction project of the Kyaikhteeyoe Pagoda which is one of the most sacred places for Buddhist people, it is reported.
      Similarly, on 7 July at 06:30 AM, members of the KNU group who support terrorism and a so-called PDF terrorist group (total number – under scrutiny) blew up the Bridge No. (2/16) which is a reinforced concrete Bridge measuring 15-foot-long and 15-foot-wide. The bridge is located at milepost 15/4 on the Kyaukgyi-Natthankwin Road near Thaekone Village in Kyaukgyi Township, Bago Region. The explosion the bridge to collapse, making it impossible for the vehicles to pass through, it is reported.
      Responsible officials are now repairing the damaged bridge so that it can be used by the public soon, and security force members are continue taking necessary measures to take punitive legal actions against the perpetrators who blew up the bridges used by public and Pilgrims as soonest in accordance with the law, it is reported.
