An armed insurgent group and so-called PDF terrorists conduct disruptive acts against education sector development in Tonzaung Township and Kale Township to create uneducated classes in the society

      With the aims to create an uneducated society following the loss of children’s rights to education as well as to support them by making people very frightened, the NUG, CRPH, and their subordinates so-call PDF terrorist Groups, which the Government has declared as terrorist organizations, are conducting various kinds of destructive activities across the country such as intimidation and coercion against students, teachers and parents; abductions and killings of students, teachers and parents; arson and bombing attacks on schools. In addition to the acts aforesaid, so call PDF terrorists, with destructive emotions, are making acts of vandalism against the government’s efforts on education sector development such as putting textbooks and teaching/learning aids to the torch; and taking those forcibly.
      Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 20 June at 08:20 PM, an armed insurgent group (total number – under scrutiny) recklessly opened fire with 40mm improvised mortar to the Basic Education High School in Khawwonlaysan Ward of Tonzaung Township, Chin State. Three 40mm improvised mortar shells landed and exploded within the school compound, resulting in damage to three window panes of Seinpanni dormitory (office room of the school), five window panes of Cherry dormitory, 20 cellings, nine window panes of Zalat dormitory, the school flagpole and plinths, it is reported.
      Similarly, on 21 June at 09:30 AM, it was reported that two homemade mines were discovered near the No. (1) Basic Education Middle School where 18 teachers were educating 579 male students and 656 female students in Area (3) of Thaungphilar Ward in Kale Township, Sagaing Region. Security personnel went to the scene and conducted an inspection. According to the investigation, it is found that a homemade mine consisting of a PVC pipe inside a paper juggernaut box, located on the roadside approximately three feet in front of the school entrance, as well as a fake homemade mine made of wood inside a paper juggernaut box, found around 50 feet outside the school’s brick fence within the roadside bushes. The discovered mines were seized, and the area was thoroughly cleared for safety, it is reported.
      Security personnel are doing required investigations to find and apprehend those terrorists involved in the aforementioned case and to take legal action against them. The public was urged to oppose the so-call NUG and PDF terrorist groups who committed nefarious acts and participate in protecting security for the future of children by providing the information about terrorists’ movements to concerned administration bodies, it is reported.
