In respective States and Regions, insurgent groups supporting terrorism and so-called PDF terrorist groups have been carrying out terrorist acts against non-military targets. These acts include detonating public roads and bridges, dropping bombs, firing heavy arms, using improvised mortars and setting fire to residential houses in the community areas of wards and village where innocent civilians reside.
Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 22 June, 2024 at 7:15 PM, security personnel received a report of a man with heavy weapon shell shrapnel injuries had arrived at Tanaing Township Public Hospital in Kachin State. When security personnel promptly arrived at the hospital for further investigation, it was discovered that at 5:00 PM on the same day, while U Than Sein, (41 years old) a resident of Mine Khum (Mont Khaung) Village in Tanaing Township, was at his house, a heavy weapon shell fired by a group of KIA armed insurgents, along with so-called PDF terrorists, exploded near his house. As a result, U Than Sein sustained injuries from the shrapnel, it is reported.
Security personnel are conducting further investigations to take punitive action against the perpetrators of terrorists who conducted the heavy weapon attack into the village and also taking security measures to restore stability and peace in the area, it is reported.
