In respective States and Regions, insurgent groups supporting terrorism and so-called PDF terrorist groups have been carrying out terrorist acts against non-military targets. These acts include detonating public roads and bridges, dropping bombs, firing heavy arms, using improvised mortars and setting fire to residential houses in areas where innocent civilians reside, such as wards and villages.
Since they are committing such terrorist acts, around 1:45 PM. on 31 May 2024, a so-called PDF terrorist group fired heavy weapon into Kawt Pa Naw Village in Kyaikemaraw Township of Mon State. A heavy weapon shell explosion injured U Kyi Win (44 years old), a resident of the village and was transported to Mawlamyine District Public Hospital for medical treatment, it is reported.
Security personnel are conducting further investigations to take punitive action against the perpetrators of terrorists who conducted the heavy weapon attack that caused injuries among an innocent civilian and also taking security measures to restore stability and peace in the area, it is reported.
