An Innocent Civilian Injured in Heavy Weapons Attack by KIA Armed Insurgents and So-called PDF Terrorists

     In respective States and Regions, insurgent groups supporting terrorism and so-called PDF terrorist groups have been carrying out terrorist acts against non-military targets. These acts include detonating public roads and bridges, dropping bombs, firing heavy arms, using improvised mortars and setting fire to residential houses in areas where innocent civilians reside, such as wards and villages.
     Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 19 May, 2024 at 3:50 PM, a group of KIA armed insurgents and the so-called PDF terrorists fired heavy weapons at Wu Yan Village, Waingmaw Township, Kachin State. A heavy weapon shell exploded next to the road from Waingmaw Town to Warshaung Village near the village. Consequently, U Arr Phu (33 years old), a resident of the village and who was near the incident at the time, sustained injuries from the shrapnel and was transported to Waingmaw Township Public Hospital for medical treatment, it is reported.
     Security personnel are conducting further investigation to take punitive action against the perpetrators of terrorists who conducted the heavy weapon attack that caused injuries of innocent civilian, and also taking security measures to restore stability and peace in the area, it is reported.
