In some townships across States and Regions, armed terrorists driven by a radicalized ideology that considers 'Anyone with differing views is an enemy' are carrying out violent assaults and assassinations. Their targets include administrative officials and innocent civilians who do not endorse their terrorist activities. Using firearms and knives, they accuse these individuals of being 'spies,' 'informants,' or 'decoys' to instill fear among peace-seeking civilians, causing a pervasive sense of dread within these communities.
Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 12 January at 2:00 PM, U Kyaw Naing Oo (43 years old), who lives in Nyan-U Village of Kawa Township, Bago Region, along with two employees, was heading to his pea field for pesticide spraying. Upon reaching a bridge at the exist of the village, two terrorists (under investigation) riding a motorcycle in the opposite direction, opened fire on U Kyaw Naing Oo. While attempting to escape to the roadside field, U Kyaw Naing Oo was fired upon approximately six times before the terrorists fled. As a result, U Kyaw Naing Oo sustained a gunshot injury to his left thigh and is currently under medical cover at Thapyaykan Circuit Hospital, it is reported.
Security personnel are persistently undertaking essential measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for killing and assassination of innocent civilians in the abovementioned case. These acts stem from a radicalized ideology that deems anyone holding differing views as an enemy, it is reported.
