In states and regions, insurgent groups supporting terrorism and so-called PDF terrorist groups have been carrying out terrorist acts against non-military targets. These acts include detonating roads and bridges, dropping bombs, firing heavy arms, using improvised mortars, and setting fire to residential houses in areas where innocent civilians reside, such as wards and villages.
Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 25 August at 07:10 AM, a so-called PDF terrorist group launched a reckless heavy weapons attack towards Karbo Village in Kambalu Township of Sagaing Region. The bombs from the heavy weapons landed and exploded in the vicinity of the Village. As a result of the explosion, Ma Kyi Phyu Lwin, 12 years old, who lives in this Village, sustained injuries from bomb shrapnel and was transported to the Mandalay Public Hospital for medical treatment, it is reported.
Security personnel are investigating the incident to take punitive action against terrorists who recklessly attacked with heavy weapons towards a Village, causing injuries to innocent civilians, as soonest in accordance with the law and to maintain stability and peace in the region, it is reported.
