In some townships across States and Regions, armed terrorists driven by a radicalized ideology that considers 'Anyone with differing views is an enemy' are carrying out violent assaults and assassinations. Their targets include civil services, administrative officials and innocent civilians who do not endorse their terrorist activities. Using firearms and knives, they accuse these individuals of being 'spies', 'informants' or 'decoys' to instill fear among peace-seeking civilians, causing a pervasive sense of dread within these communities.
Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 3 April at 12:40 AM, U Soe Tint (62 years old), who lived in Phaungtaw Village, Yebyu Township, Tanintharyi Region, was at his home when six so-called PDF terrorists arrived on three motorcycles and opened fire on him. As a result, U Soe Tint died from gunshot wounds, it is reported.
Security personnel are persistently undertaking essential measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for killing and assassination of an innocent civilian in the abovementioned case, it is reported.
