An innocent female civilian was injured due to the reckless firing of improvised mortars carried out by so-called PDF terrorists in Budalin Township

     In States and Regions, insurgent groups supporting terrorism and so-called PDF terrorist groups have been carrying out terrorist acts against non-military targets. These acts include detonating roads and bridges, dropping bombs, firing heavy arms, using improvised mortars, and setting fire to residential houses in areas where innocent civilians reside, such as wards and villages.
     Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 7 August at 02:15 PM, a group of approximately 20 so-called PDF terrorists opened fire improvised mortars towards Khonemingyi Ward of Budalin Township in Sagaing Region. The projectiles from the improvised mortars landed and exploded within the Ward. As a result of the explosions, Daw Nwe Oo, 55 years old (Father) U Aung Kyi, who lives in the Ward, sustained injuries from projectile shrapnel, and was transported to the Budalin Township Public Hospital for medical treatment, it is reported.
     Security personnels are investigating the incident to take punitive action against terrorists who recklessly opened fire improvised mortars towards a Ward, resulting in injuries to an innocent civilian, as soonest in accordance with the law and to maintain stability and peace in the region, it is reported.
