In States and Regions, insurgent groups supporting terrorism and so-called PDF terrorist groups have been carrying out terrorist acts against non-military targets. These acts include detonating public roads and bridges, dropping bombs, firing heavy arms, using improvised mortars, and setting fire to residential houses in areas where innocent civilians reside, such as wards and villages.
Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 26 October at 11:30 AM, a heavy weapon shell fired by an armed insurgent group (under scrutiny) had detonated in Honamt Village of Lashio Township in Shan State (Northern). As a result of the explosion, the villagers; Daw Naing Sam (56 years old) was killed by severing left and right legs, while Daw Naing Han (70 years old) sustained an injury from bomb shrapnel to her left collarbone. She is currently receiving medical treatment at the Lashio District Public Hospital, it is reported.
Security personnel are investigating the incident to take punitive action against terrorists who wantonly fired a heavy weapon towards a Village where innocent civilians reside, resulting in the death and injury of innocent civilians, as soonest in accordance with the law and to maintain stability and peace in the region, it is reported.
