Civil Servants, Administrative Officials and Innocent Civilians Recklessly Assassinated by So-called PDF Terrorists

    In some townships across States and Regions, so-called PDF terrorists motivated by a radical ideology that views “anyone with differing views is an enemy” are conducting violent assaults and assassinations. Their targets are civil servants, administrative officials and innocent civilians who do not support their terrorist acts. Using firearms and knives, these terrorists are committing brutal assassinations after accusing them of “spies, informants or decoys”. This strategy is intended to instill fear among peaceable civilians and create a pervasive sense of dread within these communities.
    Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 25 August, 2024 at 6:20 AM, a report stated that two men were shot dead in Nar Khar Ward, Mohnyin Township of Kachin State. When security personnel promptly arrived at the scene for further investigation, it was discovered that the victims were Ko Kyaw Khine Soe (aka) Kyaw Khin Soe (35 years old) and Ko Bauk Naw (37 years old), a Forest Ranger at the Township Forest Department, both residents of the ward. While the victims were at Ko Kyaw Khine Soe (aka) Kyaw Khin Soe’s house, a so-called PDF terrorist group arrived and opened fire on them. As a result, both men died on the spot, it is reported.
    Similarly, at 3:45 PM, a report stated that a man was shot dead in Gway Nyo Win Village, Mahlaing Township of Mandalay Region. When security personnel promptly arrived at the scene for further investigation, it was discovered that the victim was U Win Aung (55 years old), a 10-household elder and a resident of the village. While he was at his house, four so-called PDF terrorists arriving by two motorcycles and opened fire on him. As a result, U Win Aung died on the spot, it is reported.
    Similarly, at 9:00 PM, a report stated that a man was shot dead in Thet Lal Village, Saytottara Township of Magway Region. When security personnel promptly arrived at the scene for further investigation, it was discovered that the victim was Village Tract Administrator U Thein Shwe (56 years old), a resident of the village. While he was at the house of his daughter, Daw Tin Tin Htar, also a resident of the village, a so-called PDF terrorist group arrived and opened fire on him. As a result, U Thein Shwe died on the spot, it is reported.
    Security personnel are persistently taking necessary measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for the killings and assassinations of civil servant, administrative officials and innocent civilian in the aforementioned cases, it is reported.
