In some townships across States and Regions, armed terrorists motivated by a radical ideology that views “anyone with differing views is an enemy” are conducting violent assaults and assassinations. Their targets are civil servants, administrative officials and innocent civilians who do not support their terrorist acts. Using firearms and knives, these terrorists are committing brutal assassinations after accusing them of “spies, informants, or decoys”. This strategy is intended to instill fear among peaceable civilians and create a pervasive sense of dread within these communities.
Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 24 June, 2024 at 11:05 AM, security personnel received a report of a man and woman who had been shot dead in Phyak Seik Kone Village, Taungdwingyi Township, Magway Region. When security personnel promptly arrived at the scene for further investigation, it was discovered that the victims were U Nyunt Win (54 years old) the Village Administrator and Daw Htay Htay Myint (56 years old) a clerk at the village administrator’s office, who both resided in the village. The incident occurred that while U Nyunt Win was visiting Daw Htay Htay Myint’s house, where two so-called PDF terrorists arrived and opened fire on them. Additionally, the terrorists took eight gold bracelets, two gold rings and a gold necklace with a locket that Daw Htay Htay Myint was wearing before fleeing. Tragically, both victims died on the spot, it is reported.
Similarly, at 11:10 AM, security personnel received a report of a man shot dead and another injured at the “Oo Lay Gyi” betel shop in Kon Thel Ward, Daik-U Township, Bago Region. When security personnel promptly arrived at the scene for further investigation, it was discovered that U Aung Naing (54 years old) the Ward Administrator and resident of the ward, was on his way by motorcycle to the betel shop to purchase betel. When he arrived in front of the betel shop, two so-called PDF terrorists arrived by motorcycle and opened fire on him. Targically, U Aung Naing died on the spot. Unfortunately, U Nay Zin Lat (43 years old) a resident of Pyuntaza Town in Nyaunglebin Township, who was near the incident at the time, sustained gunshot injuries and was transported to Pyuntaza Circuit Hospital for medical treatment, it is reported.
Similarly, at 8:30 PM, security personnel received a report of a man and woman were injured by gunfire in Dar Yel Kaung Village, Myitthar Township, Mandalay Region. When security personnel promptly arrived at the scene for further investigation, it was discovered that while Ma Khine Zar Lin (33 years old) a junior assistance teacher at Kywal Swal Village Basic Education Primary School and resident of the village, was at her house with her elder cousin brother U Zaw Zaw Win (40 years old), three so-called PDF terrorists arrived by three motorcycles and opened fire on them before fleeing. Consequently, both sustained gunshot injuries and were transported to Myitthar Township Public Hospital for medical treatment, it is reported.
Similarly, on 25 June at 6:10 AM, security personnel received a report of two men and woman were shot dead in Chaung Shae Village, Nyaung-U Township. When security personnel promptly arrived at the scene for further investigation, it was discovered that while U Aung San Oo (52 years old) a 100-household elder, his wife Daw Khine Khine Win (49 years old) their son, Ko Nyi Nyi Lin (28 years old) a grade-4 land surveyor at the Nyaung-U Township Land Record Department and their daughter, Ma Khin Myat Myat Oo (25 years old) all residents of the village, were at their house, eight so-called PDF terrorists arrived by three motorcycles and opened fire on them. Additionally, the terrorists took two motorcycles before fleeing. Tragically, U Aung San Oo, Ko Nyi Nyi Lin and Ma Khin Myat Myat Oo died on the spot. Fortunately, Daw Khine Khine Win managed to escape, it is reported.
Security personnel are persistently taking necessary measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for the deaths and the injured of the civil servants, administrative officials and the innocent civilians in the aforementioned cases, it is reported.
