In some townships across States and Regions, so-called PDF terrorists motivated by a radical ideology that views “anyone with differing views is an enemy” are conducting violent assaults and assassinations. Their targets are civil servants and innocent civilians who do not support their terrorist acts. Using firearms and knives, these terrorists are committing brutal assassinations after accusing them of “spies, informants or decoys”. This strategy is intended to instill fear among peaceable civilians and create a pervasive sense of dread within these communities.
Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 7 October, 2024 at 10:45 AM, a report stated that a woman was injured by gunfire near Aye Kabar Village in Thanbyuzayat. When security personnel promptly arrived at the scene for further investigation, it was discovered that the victim was Daw Nwe Yi Lin (30 years old), a resident of Kawhmu Township in the Yangon Region. The incident occurred while the victim was travelling in the Shwe Sin Sat Kyar coach (License Plate No. 2M-XXXX), from Dawei Town to Yangon City along the Ye-Thanbyuzayat Road. So-called PDF terrorists opened fire on the coach near Aye Kabar Village, resulting in the victim sustaining gunshot injuries. She was transported to Lamine Station Hospital in Ye Township for medical treatment, it is reported.
Similarly, at 8:40 PM, a report stated that a woman was shot dead in Ai Pauk Kone Village, Natmauk Township of Magway Region. When security personnel promptly arrived at the scene for further investigation, it was discovered that the victim was Daw Khin Mar Aye (57 years old), a primary assistant teacher at the Branch Basic Education High School of the village and a resident of the village. While the victim was at her house, four so-called PDF terrorists arrived and opened fire on her. As a result, the victim died on the spot. Additionally, the terrorists took items from the house and a motorcycle before fleeing, it is reported.
Security personnel are persistently taking necessary measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for the killing and assassination of civil servant and innocent civilian in the aforementioned case, it is reported.
