In some townships across States and Regions, armed terrorists driven by a radicalized ideology that considers 'Anyone with differing views is an enemy' are carrying out violent assaults and assassinations. Their targets include civil services, administrative officials and innocent civilians who do not endorse their terrorist activities. Using firearms and knives, they accuse these individuals of being 'spies', 'informants' or 'decoys' to instill fear among peace-seeking civilians, causing a pervasive sense of dread within these communities.
Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 1 April at 4:30 PM, a report stated that a man was killed by gunfire in Kawtsannaing Ward, Kyaikto Township, Mon State. Security personnel promptly arrived at the scene and conducted an inspection. During the investigation, it was found that a 100-household elder, U Mya Aye (70 years old), who lived in the ward, was in his house when two so-called PDF terrorists arrived on a motorcycle and opened fire on him before fleeing. As a result, U Mya Aye died from gunshot injuries, it is reported.
Similarly, at 10:20 PM, a report stated that a woman was injured by gunfire in Nyaunglaypin Village, Ngazun Township, Mandalay Region. Security personnel promptly arrived at the scene and conducted an inspection. During the investigation, it was found that Daw Shwe Yamin Oo (25 years old), a junior assistant teacher at Basic Education Primary School (Tharkyin), who lived in the village, was in her house with her family, when two so-called PDF terrorists arrived and opened fire on her. As a result, Daw Shwe Yamin Oo sustained gunshot wounds and was transported to Ngazun Township Public Hospital for medical treatment, it is reported.
Similarly, on 2 April at 7:40 AM, a report stated that a man was injured by gunfire at the “Aung Kaung Moe” tea shop, located between mileposts 10/1 and 10/2 on the Mandalay-Pyinoolwin Road in Ngwetaung Village, Patheingyi Township. Security personnel promptly arrived at the scene and conducted an inspection. During the investigation, it was found that Village Administrator, U Soe Min (51 years old), who lives in Myotaw Village, Patheingyi Township, was having tea alone inside the tea shop when two so-called PDF terrorists arrived on a motorcycle and opened fire on him before fleeing. As a result, U Soe Min sustained gunshot wounds and was transported to a local military hospital for medical treatment, it is reported.
Security personnel are persistently undertaking essential measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for killings and assassinations of civil service and administrative officials in the abovementioned cases, it is reported.
