Eight passengers were injured, while a vehicle was damaged when a mine, detonated by so-called PDF terrorists, exploded near a passenger vehicle close to Kyuntaw Village in Kyaikto Township of Mon State, it is reported.
The incident occurred that on the night of 1 November, a passenger vehicle from “Aung Kyaw Moe” Express, driven by U Kyaw Phyoe Thu (29 years old), and accompanied by a vehicle helper Ko Min Thu (24 years old), was carrying passengers. They were travelling from Yangon to Mawlamyine along the Yangon-Mawlamyine Highway. Upon reaching near the “PT Power” petrol station located near Kyuntaw Village in Kyaikto Township of Mon State, so-called PDF terrorists attacked by detonating a mine planted on the right side of the Road. As the result of the explosion, the body and the front windshields of the vehicle were damaged. Additionally, the passenger; U Win Kyaing (45 years old), U Ohn Than (38 years old), Ko San Min Thu (23 years old), Ko Aung San Min (18 years old), Daw Win Hla (60 years old), Ma Khine War War Win (22 years old), Ma Naychi Theint (25 years old) and Ma Than Than Yi (22 years old) sustained injuries from mine shrapnel. They all received medical care at the Kyaikto District Public Hospital, it is reported.
It has been reported that the security personnel are investigating the perpetrators who blew up a passenger vehicle, causing causality and injury of innocent civilians, who are travelling peacefully, in order to be able to take effective action in accordance with the law.
