Five innocent villagers were injured due to a reckless mortars attack carried out by armed insurgents supporting terrorism and so-called PDF terrorists towards Kyaung Village of Ye Township

     In States and Regions, insurgent groups supporting terrorism and so-called PDF terrorist groups have been carrying out terrorist acts against non-military targets. These acts include dropping bombs, firing heavy arms, using improvised mortars, and setting fire to residential houses in areas where innocent civilians reside, such as wards and villages.
     Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 12 September at 02:50 PM, a collaborative group including armed insurgents supporting terrorism and so-called PDF terrorists launched a reckless attack by firing mortars towards Kyaung Village of Ye Township in Mon State. Two mortar shells landed and exploded within Kyaung Village. As a result of the explosions, U Chit Aung (59 years old), U Zaw Htway (35 years old), Daw Khin Than Oo (aka) Ma Chan (45 years old), Daw Thet Wai (40 years old) and Daw Kyi Win (30 years old), who all live in this Village, sustained injuries from shell shrapnel to their hands and legs. They are currently receiving medical at the Kyaung Village Circuit Hospital for medical treatment, it is reported.
     Security personnel are investigating the incident to take punitive action against terrorists who recklessly attacked using mortars towards a Village, causing injuries to innocent civilians, as soonest in accordance with the law and to maintain stability and peace in the region, it is reported.
