In various States and Regions, armed insurgents who support terrorism, as well as so-called PDF terrorist groups, have been conducting terrorist activities targeting non-military entities. These activities encompass detonating explosives on public roads and bridges, attacking wards, villages, schools, and public areas, dropping bombs, engaging in heavy arms fire, employing improvised mortars, and setting fire to residential houses in areas populated by innocent civilians, like wards and villages.
Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 10 January at 04:50 PM, a report stated that individuals with injuries from heavy weapon shell shrapnel had arrived at the Township Public Hospital in Bhamo Town, Kachin State. Security personnel promptly arrived at the hospital and conducted an inspection. During the investigation, it was found that Daw Khin Wyne (58 years old), Daw Nan Aye Lwin (35 years old), Daw Sandar Win (28 years old) and Daw Khin Wyne’s granddaughter Ma Aye Chan May (one year and four months), who all live in Si-U Village of Mansi Township, sustained injuries from heavy weapon shrapnel. The incident was verified that on 9 January around 10:00 AM, a heavy weapon shell fired by a collaborative group comprising KIA armed insurgents and so-called PDF terrorists exploded near the Village Hall in Si-U Village resulting in the aforementioned injuries, it is reported.
Security personnel are conducting an investigation into the incident to pursue punitive measures against the terrorists responsible for firing a heavy weapon shell within the village, resulting in injuries to innocent civilians, as mentioned earlier. This action is in accordance with the law and is aimed at upholding stability and peace in the region, it is reported.
