In some townships across States and Regions, armed terrorists driven by a radicalized ideology that considers 'Anyone with differing views is an enemy' are carrying out violent assaults and assassinations. Their targets include administrative officials and innocent civilians who do not endorse their terrorist activities. Using firearms and knives, they accuse these individuals of being 'spies,' 'informants,' or 'decoys' to instill fear among peace-seeking civilians, causing a pervasive sense of dread within these communities.
Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 21 January at 6:30 AM, a report stated that a male was dead by gunfire Kanmyal Village of Taungtha Township, Mandalay Region. Security personnel promptly arrived at the scene and conducted an inspection. During the investigation, it was found that Ko Zin Min Naing (aka) Ah-shae Gyi (21 years old), who lived in this village, was herding goats in Pyoungyikone forest (locally known) located approximately four furlongs east of the village. At that moment, two so-called PDF terrorists (under investigation) arrived and opened fire on him, accusing him of being a “Decoy (Dalan)”. As a result, Ko Zin Min Naing (aka) Ah-shae Gyi was dead from gunshot injuries, it is reported.
Likewise, at 2:00 PM, a report stated that a male was killed, and another was injured by gunfire near Thalkaw Village of Minhla Township, Bago Region. Security personnel promptly arrived at the scene and conducted an inspection. During the investigation, it was found that Village Administrator U Than Tun (74 years old) and a 100-household elder, U Maung Naing (55 years old), who both live in Htanpinkone Village of Minhla Township, were returning to their homes on a motorcycle from the Minhla Township General Administrative Department Office. As they neared Thalkaw Village, a group of five so-called PDF terrorists (under investigation), approached on three motorcycles from behind and opened fire on them before fleeing the scene. As a result, U Than Tun was dead from gunshot injuries, while U Maung Naing sustained gunshot injuries and was transported to the No. (6) Military (100-bedded) Hospital for medical treatment, it is reported.
Likewise, at 7:30 PM, a report stated that a male was killed, and another was injured by gunfire in Thameikthar Village of Taungtha Township, Mandalay Region. Security personnel promptly arrived at the scene and conducted an inspection. During the investigation, it was found that U San Lwin (55 years old), who lived in this village, was engaged in a conversation with Ko Zin Ko Aung (23 years old), who also lives in this village, in U San Lwin’s house, when two male terrorists (under investigation), arrived on a motorcycle and opened fire on them before fleeing. As a result, U San Lwin was dead from gunshot injuries while Ko Zin Ko Aung sustained gunshot injuries. He was transported to a Circuit Hospital in Kyawze Village for medical treatment, it is reported.
Security personnel are persistently undertaking essential measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for killings and assassinations of administrative officials and innocent civilians in the abovementioned cases.
