In certain townships, two innocent civilians were injured due to the reckless firing of heavy weapons towards Villages, carried out by armed insurgents who support terrorism and so-called PDF terrorists

     In States and Regions, insurgent groups supporting terrorism and so-called PDF terrorist groups have been carrying out terrorist acts against non-military targets. These acts include detonating public roads and bridges, dropping bombs, firing heavy arms, using improvised mortars, and setting fire to residential houses in areas where innocent civilians reside, such as wards and villages.
     Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 11 February at 8:00 AM, a report stated that a woman with injuries from heavy weapon shrapnel arrived at the District Public Hospital in Thaton Township, Mon State. Security personnel promptly arrived at the hospital and conducted an inspection. During the investigation, it was found that Ma May Zin Aung (25 years old), who lives in Khyarpan Village of Tathon Township, had sustained an injury to her right ankle from heavy weapon shrapnel. The incident was verified that on the same day at 7:00 AM, she was working on a rubber plantation located in the village. A heavy weapon shell, fired by KNU members who support terrorism and so-called PDF terrorists, exploded within the rubber plantation, resulting in the aforementioned injury, it is reported.
     Similarly, at 12:30 PM, a report stated that a woman with injuries from heavy weapon shrapnel arrived at Mandalay Public Hospital. Security personnel promptly arrived at the hospital and conducted an inspection. During the investigation, it was found that Daw Aye Mar Cho (50 years old), who lives in Tharyarpaung Village of Myinmu Township, Sagaing Region, had sustained two injuries to her chest and abdomen from heavy weapon shrapnel. The incident was verified that on the same day at around 8:30 AM, while she was in her house. A heavy weapon shell, fired by so-called PDF terrorists, exploded within her house yard, resulting in the aforementioned injuries, it is reported.
     Security personnel are conducting an investigation into the incidents involving the heavy weapon attacks on the villages, which resulted in the earlier mentioned. The aim of this investigation is to take punitive action against the terrorists involved. This action is in accordance with the law and is geared towards upholding stability and peace in the region, it is reported.
